English Tutor

What experience do you need to become an English tutor?

Becoming an English tutor requires a number of things. Of course, one needs to speak English fluently first and also understand the language, having passed a number of higher level courses about English regarding grammar and essay writing. With these certificates and proof of their English knowledge one can probably begin to work as an English tutor—however there is more to being an English tutor than simply having a degree and speaking the language.

It’s also integral that a tutor actually knows how to teach and pass along knowledge of the English language and all its ins and outs to their students who they are teaching and preparing for upcoming essays and tests. Teaching is a skill completely separate from knowing, memorizing and learning material yourself. It requires being able to relate to a student and convey ways to absorb and understand material that they would understand on their own.
